URBANA, IL (Chambana Today) – Urbana School District 116 will be offering free breakfast and lunch to children 18 and under this summer through the federally funded Summer Meal Program. The initiative, running from June through mid-July 2025, ensures that all children in the area—regardless of income or school enrollment—have access to nutritious meals during the summer break.
Meals will be served Monday through Thursday at several district locations, with no meals on Thursday, June 19. Additionally, Yankee Ridge Multilingual will offer meals Monday through Friday from June 23–27.
Participating sites and mealtimes include:

King Elementary (June 9–July 2):
Breakfast: 8:30–9 a.m., Lunch: 12:30–1 p.m. -
Urbana Middle School (June 9–July 2):
Breakfast: 8:30–9 a.m., Lunch: 11–11:30 a.m. -
Yankee Ridge Multilingual (June 23–27):
Breakfast: 9–9:30 a.m., Lunch: 12:10–12:50 p.m. -
Urbana High School (June 9–July 17):
Breakfast: 7:30–8:30 a.m., Lunch: 11:30 a.m.–12 p.m.
The Summer Food Program is supported by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, which strictly prohibits discrimination in all its programs.
No registration or income verification is required to participate. Children do not need to be enrolled in Urbana schools or summer programs to receive meals.
