URBANA, IL (Chambana Today) — A new statewide survey has named The Bread Company one of Illinois’ most popular destinations for celebrating career achievements, ranking it among the top four “unofficial celebration spots” for promotions, bonuses, and major business wins.

The findings come from a survey of more than 3,000 business leaders conducted by financial media company MarketBeat, which examined where professionals go after closing deals, earning raises, or finishing strong financial quarters.

The Urbana restaurant ranked No. 2 in the state, noted for its relaxed atmosphere that blends the energy of a college town with a casual, communal dining experience. Respondents described it as a natural gathering place where colleagues shift from workplace urgency to shared celebration.

The survey’s top Illinois celebration spots were listed as:

  • The Bread Company, Urbana
  • Jonah’s Seafood House & 2601 Oyster Bar, East Peoria
  • Kumiko, Chicago
  • Meson Sabika, Naperville

Researchers found that most celebrations were tied to promotions and pay raises, followed by bonuses and major deal closings. Many respondents also reported spending more than planned to mark professional milestones, with pride and relief cited as the most common emotions associated with these events.
