Unit 4 invites families to kindergarten information night and school tours

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (Chambana Today) — Champaign Unit 4 School District is inviting families of incoming kindergarten students to learn more about its schools and programs during a Kindergarten Information Night and a series of upcoming school tours.

The district will host Kindergarten Information Night on Thursday, Jan. 15, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Stratton Academy, 902 N. Randolph St. The open-house style event is designed to give families an interactive introduction to kindergarten in Unit 4.

Representatives from every elementary school, along with district departments, will be available at individual information tables. Families can explore academic programs, student services and school-specific offerings at their own pace, ask questions and collect resources. Additional support and information will also be available for families who need it, with more details posted on the district’s website.

Following the information night, Unit 4 will offer school tours for families of new and kindergarten students. All tours will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on the following dates:

  • On Tuesday, Jan. 27, and Thursday, Feb. 5, tours will be held at Barkstall, Carrie Busey, Bottenfield, International Preparatory Academy, Kenwood and Robeson elementary schools.
  • On Thursday, Jan. 29, and Tuesday, Feb. 3, tours will be available at Booker T. Washington, Dr. Howard, Garden Hills, South Side, Stratton and Westview elementary schools.
