CHAMPAIGN, IL (Chambana Today) — The Beat on Market Street is back for another summer, bringing four themed block parties to downtown Champaign on the second Saturday of June, July, August, and September.

The series runs June 13, July 11, August 8, and September 12, with doors opening at 7 p.m. and live entertainment on stage beginning at 8 p.m. Each event runs until midnight.

This year’s themes are Denim and Diamonds, Versus (a DJ battle), Family Reunion, and Island Bounce. Entertainment will feature a mix of DJs and live bands, including local and regional acts, with contests and giveaways at each event.

Early arrivals can enjoy games including cornhole, skee-ball inside Pour Bros, and video gaming inside Live Action Games before the music starts. Pour Bros will offer bar service and their signature Pour Wall within the secure perimeter, and Seven Saints will operate a mobile bar. A food truck will be on-site at each event, along with food and snacks from Haypenny Market.

The event is open to attendees 21 and older. Security screening is required upon entry, and clear bags only are permitted.

The Beat on Market Street is produced by the City of Champaign, with support from MTD and Illinois Soul. Updates are available on Facebook and Instagram at @thebeatchampaignil.
