Semi-truck crash closed part of I-74 near Oakwood early Monday

VERMILION COUNTY, Ill. (Chambana Today) — A semi-truck crash closed part of Interstate 74 near Oakwood early Monday morning, causing significant traffic delays for several hours.

According to Illinois State Police, the crash happened around 4:25 a.m. at milepost 209 in the westbound lanes. The truck jackknifed, blocking both lanes of traffic. The driver was evaluated for possible injuries at the scene.

Crews worked through the early morning hours to remove the vehicle and clear debris. All lanes reopened to traffic around 7:15 a.m. State Police said no additional information is available at this time.
