CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (Chambana Today) — Promise Healthcare is expanding access to care in Champaign County with the opening of Promise Healthcare – Kenyon inside the Champaign-Urbana Public Health District (C-UPHD).

The new clinic will start serving patients on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, and will be open on Mondays and Wednesdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. during its initial launch phase with plans to expand to five days a week.

The clinic is located at 201 West Kenyon Road in Champaign. The clinic will provide both medical and behavioral health services, making it easier for patients to receive whole-person care in a trusted, central community location.

  • Prenatal and postpartum services will be led by Marilyn Perez, MSN, APRN, FNP-C, Family Nurse Practitioner.
  • Behavioral health services will be offered by Susan Hanson, LCPC, DSW, PEL K-12 and Carin Cohen-Health, LPC.

The opening of the facility also marks the organization’s fifth location in Champaign County.

Other sites include:

  • Promise Healthcare – Frances Nelson (Champaign)
  • Promise Healthcare – Neil (Champaign)
  • Promise Healthcare – Urbana (School-Based Health Center at Urbana High School)
  • Promise Healthcare – Rantoul (School-Based Health Center next to J.W. Eater Jr. High)

The new location’s addition is the result of a partnership between Promise Healthcare and C-UPHD, designed to remove barriers to care by bringing services directly to where people live, work, and gather.

“Through our partnership with the Champaign-Urbana Public Health District, we are uniting our strengths to better serve the community,” said Jennifer Henry, CEO of Promise Healthcare. “Promise Healthcare will
provide high-quality medical and behavioral health services, while CUPHD continues to deliver its vital
public health programs, including prevention, education, and community outreach. Together, we are creating a trusted, central location where families can access comprehensive care, reduce barriers, and improve overall health and well-being.”

The facility, as a Federally Qualified Health Center, Promise Healthcare accepts most insurance plans, including Medicaid and Medicare. For patients without insurance, a sliding fee scale is available based on income and family size. Promise Healthcare treats all patients, regardless of their ability to pay.
