CHAMPAIGN, IL (Chambana Today) — Pixo, a woman-owned custom software and web development firm, has officially relocated its headquarters to the Atkins Building, Suite 106, in the University of Illinois Research Park, marking a new chapter in the company’s 27-year history.

The move places the firm at the heart of one of the Midwest’s leading innovation ecosystems, aligning with its future-facing commitment to hybrid work and deeper collaboration with the region’s tech community. “Our new office home is right in the midst of so much exciting technological innovation,” said Melinda Miller, CEO and co-owner of Pixo. “We look forward to connecting with the vibrant community here, tapping into that energy, and building new relationships with our neighbors at Research Park.”

Founded in 1998 as On the Job Consulting, Pixo previously operated above Urbana’s West Main Street. The COVID-19 pandemic led the company to embrace a fully remote workflow—an approach that proved so effective it has now become permanent. Team members are now spread across the United States, serving clients nationwide.

Despite its distributed model, Pixo remains firmly rooted in Champaign-Urbana. “Maintaining a physical presence here is incredibly important to us,” Miller added. “We have deep roots and a rich history tied to the University of Illinois, the agricultural economy, and this community.”

Pixo plans to take full advantage of Research Park’s amenities, offering its team and clients a high-quality space for meetings, collaboration, and social events. “We are thrilled to see the team locate a footprint in our on-campus tech hub,” said Laura Weisskopf Bleill, Director of External Engagement and Communications at Research Park. “Pixo is a great example of how innovation, community, and business can grow together in this ecosystem.”
