URBANA, IL (Chambana Today) – Urbana Mayor DeShawn Williams will mark a major milestone in his administration by delivering a public address commemorating his first 100 days in office. The event will take place on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at 2 p.m. in Council Chambers at Urbana City Hall, located at 400 South Vine Street.
During the address, Mayor Williams will reflect on the achievements of his first three months in office and share a forward-looking vision for the city of Urbana. Key initiatives are expected to include neighborhood revitalization, economic development, public safety, and inclusive community engagement.
“This is an opportunity to take stock of where we’ve come in a short time and, more importantly, where we’re headed,” Mayor Williams said in a statement. “Our focus remains on transparency, equity, and sustainable progress for everyone in Urbana.”
The address is open to both the media and the public, and residents are encouraged to attend and learn more about the administration’s priorities and direction.
Mayor Williams took office earlier this year after being elected in a closely watched race. Since then, he has prioritized community input and interdepartmental collaboration as key pillars of his leadership approach.
