Man injured in shooting on west Bradley Avenue; police seek witnesses

CHAMPAIGN, IL (Chambana Today) — Champaign Police are investigating a shooting that left a man injured Friday night in the 1200 block of West Bradley Avenue.

Officers were dispatched to the area at approximately 8:49 p.m. on May 23 following reports of gunfire. When they arrived, officers found a 30-year-old man suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. Police and members of the Champaign Fire Department provided immediate medical care before the victim was transported to a local hospital, where he was listed in stable condition.

Preliminary information suggests the victim was attending a gathering when shots were fired, striking him. Officers remained on scene for several hours collecting evidence and canvassing for witnesses and video footage. No arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing.

Police are asking nearby residents and businesses with exterior security cameras to review their footage and contact the department if anything suspicious was captured. Anyone with additional information is urged to contact the Champaign Police Department at 217-351-4545.
