URBANA, IL (Chambana Today) – A serious traffic crash has prompted the immediate closure of Florida Avenue and Lincoln Avenue in Urbana early Thursday morning, as emergency personnel remain on the scene conducting an investigation.

According to a statement released by the Urbana Police Department, the intersection is expected to be shut down to all traffic until approximately 11:00 a.m. Motorists are being urged to avoid the area and seek alternate routes while first responders manage the incident and gather information.

Details about the crash, including the number of vehicles involved or whether there were any injuries, have not yet been released. The Urbana Police Department indicated that further updates will be provided as the investigation progresses.

“The safety of the public and our emergency crews is our top priority,” the department said. “We thank the community for their patience and cooperation during this time.”

The closure has caused some traffic disruptions during the morning commute. Local authorities are monitoring traffic flow in surrounding areas to minimize delays. This is a developing story. More information will be provided as it becomes available.
