MAHOMET-SEYMOUR (Chambana Today) — Mahomet-Seymour residents may hear sirens around town this evening, but officials say there’s no cause for concern.

The noise will be part of a celebration for the Mahomet-Seymour High School wrestling team after the Bulldogs earned a third-place finish at the state tournament.

School officials and supporters plan to hold a mini-parade beginning at 5:30 p.m. to recognize the team’s accomplishment. The parade will leave from Mahomet-Seymour High School, travel through downtown Mahomet and then return to the school.

Community members are encouraged to step outside, gather along the sidewalks or cheer from their front porches as the team passes by.
