LUDLOW, Ill. (Chambana Today) — A Ludlow resident has been arrested and charged with multiple counts of child pornography possession following an investigation led by the Champaign County Sheriff’s Office.

On Monday, September 22, Sheriff’s Detectives executed a search warrant at a home in the 100-block of North Locust Street after receiving a tip from the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) task force. The tip indicated that someone at the residence was in possession of Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM).

Investigators identified the suspect as Jayson Johns, who was taken into custody at the scene. According to officials, Johns admitted to possessing CSAM during the investigation. He has since been charged by the Champaign County State’s Attorney’s Office with multiple felony counts of Possession of Child Pornography.

Authorities say the investigation is ongoing and are urging anyone with additional information to contact the Champaign County Sheriff’s Investigations Division at 217-384-1213.

Anonymous tips can also be submitted to Crime Stoppers, which offers cash rewards for information leading to arrests — up to $1,000 for general felony crimes, $2,500 for felony firearm-related crimes, and $5,000 for homicide cases.
