CHICAGO, Ill (Chambana Today) — It was a winning weekend for Illinois Lottery players, with nearly $12.8 million in prizes claimed across three major games, including Lotto, Lucky Day Lotto, and Fast Play.

The largest prize came from the Illinois-only Lotto game, where one player matched all six numbers in the Saturday, January 24 drawing to win an $11.6 million jackpot. The win marks the largest Illinois Lottery jackpot claimed so far this year and instantly created one of the state’s newest multimillionaires.

The winning Lotto ticket was purchased at truenorth, located at 2345 W. Bartlett Road in Bartlett. The winning numbers were 5, 6, 8, 27, 40, and 50. As the selling retailer, truenorth will receive a bonus of $116,000, equal to one percent of the jackpot.

The latest Lotto jackpot run began on August 26, 2025, and resulted in nearly 2.86 million winning tickets statewide, awarding more than $25.7 million in total prizes and creating five Illinois Lotto millionaires.

Another significant win occurred Saturday when an Illinois Lottery player won $481,907 playing Fast Play Twenty 20s online. It is the largest Twenty 20s jackpot won so far this year. The progressive Fast Play game starts at $50,000 and grows with each ticket sold statewide until the jackpot is claimed. More than 42,000 winning Twenty 20s tickets have been sold this month, totaling over $2.3 million in prizes.

A third jackpot winner emerged Friday evening after a player won $700,000 in the Lucky Day Lotto drawing. The winning ticket was purchased at a Shell gas station located at 5201 N. Western Ave. in Chicago. The player matched all five numbers—10, 12, 14, 19, and 41—to secure the prize. Since the start of the year, nearly 774,000 winning Lucky Day Lotto tickets have been sold, awarding more than $5 million statewide.

Illinois Lottery winners have one year from the date of the drawing to claim their prizes. Players are encouraged to sign the back of their ticket immediately and keep it in a safe place until it is claimed.

Illinois Lottery games are available at retail locations statewide and online through IllinoisLottery.com or the Illinois Lottery app. Players must be 18 or older. Playing the lottery should be a fun form of entertainment, and participants are reminded to set limits and play responsibly.
