CHAMPAIGN, IL (Chambana Today) — Season tickets for the 2026 Illinois football season went on sale to the general public Tuesday at 12 p.m., with limited availability expected as demand continues to grow around the program.

Illinois officials said remaining tickets are expected to sell quickly following recent seasons that have featured increased attendance and multiple sellouts at Gies Memorial Stadium. The program recorded four consecutive sellout games last season, tying its longest streak in 38 years.

The Fighting Illini also averaged 58,350 fans per game in 2025, the team’s highest attendance mark since 2009. Since head coach Bret Bielema took over in 2021, attendance has increased by more than 65%, according to the program.

University officials said student season tickets are also on pace for another sellout, marking what would be the third straight year of full student allotments. Sales early in 2026 were up 138% compared to the same period last year.

In addition to general admission tickets, limited premium seating options remain available.

The 2026 home schedule includes seven games at Gies Memorial Stadium, featuring Big Ten matchups against Purdue, Oregon, Nebraska and Iowa, along with nonconference games against UAB, Southern Illinois and Duke.

Illinois is coming off consecutive nine-win seasons and back-to-back bowl victories, including wins in the Citrus Bowl and Music City Bowl, marking one of the program’s most successful two-year stretches in history.
