Kid-friendly New Year’s Eve celebrations in town

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (Chambana Today) — Ready to celebrate the New Year but not looking forward to keeping the kids up until the ball drops in Times Square? We’ve got you covered!

We’ve rounded together a few “Noon Years Eve” events from in and around the area to help you celebrate the new year in a way that won’y keep you up late at night!

The Tolono Public Library, located at 111 East Main Street, will hold a balloon drop with snacks and music from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., with the event geared towards kids aged 0-6.

In Urbana, head on over to the Urbana Free Library at 210 West Green Street from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. to ring in the new year! Their children-focused event will include a story time and a craft, and is geared towards toddlers, pre-schoolers, elementary students, and their families.

In Champaign, head over to the Martens Center at 1515 North Market Street for their balloon drop. Music, crafts, games, noisemakers, and plenty of festive fun will help you and the kids kick off the new year in style. The event will run from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.!
