CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (Chambana Today) — Habitat for Humanity of Champaign County is inviting the community to join the seventh annual Raise the Woof! event, its largest fundraiser of the year.

This year’s event will feature teams designing and building creative cat trees following the theme “Under Cat-struction!” Funds raised will help Habitat build safe, decent, and affordable homes for local families.

The event will take place on Saturday, September 6 and run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Champaign County ReStore, located at 1914 Glenn Park Drive in Champaign.

Teams can compete in a novice category and an experienced category. The Kittens category will provide participants with pre-cut kits provided for decorating, while the Alley Cats category will see teams create custom designs built on-site.

Builds will be judged by guest judges, peers, and the public. Awards will be given out for creativity, fundraising, and community spirit. Completed cat trees will be displayed, voted on, and sold at the Champaign County ReStore, with proceeds benefiting Habitat for Humanity of Champaign County.

To get involved, form a team and register online at cuhabitat.org/events/raise-the-woof. Spaces are limited. Team fees are $200, and teams can win additional prizes for top fundraising.

By participating, you can support affordable housing in Champaign County, show off your creativity in a fun, hands-on challenge, and engage with the community.

For details, registration, or sponsorship, visit cuhabitat.org/events/raise-the-woof, email
