URBANA, Ill. (Chambana Today) — A GoFundMe campaign has been started to help the owners of Baldarotta’s Porketta & Sicilian Sausage after a break-in led to significant financial losses and equipment damage. On the night of owner Jordan Baldarotta’s birthday, thieves stole approximately $1,500 in cash, tampered with kitchen equipment, and took essential tools needed to run the business. The thieves also took the restaurant’s point-of-sale system, causing further disruptions to daily operations.

Despite the crime, the Baldarotta family remains positive. Jordan’s employee, who started the campaign, expressed gratitude for the owners’ generosity over the years, including offering rides and providing employment. The GoFundMe is aimed at easing the financial burden as the business recovers, and the community has been urged to come together to support the popular Urbana establishment.

While investigations are ongoing and fingerprints have been collected, no arrests have been made yet. To donate, click here.
