CHAMPAIGN, IL (Chambana Today) — Champaign firefighters responded to an early morning fire Thursday at a vacant single-family home in the 200 block of East Washington Street.

The Champaign Fire Department was dispatched to the scene at 2:23 a.m. on February 12 following reports of a structure fire. When crews arrived, they found heavy fire coming from a second-story window of the two-story residence.

Firefighters deployed multiple hose lines and were able to quickly bring the blaze under control. The fire was extinguished without any reported injuries to fire personnel.
