‘Fill the boot’ event to take place before Illini football game for Champaign Firefighters Benevolent Fund

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (Chambana Today) — After recent events, the community is being asked to show love and support for Champaign Firefighters this Saturday.

Before No. 9 Illinois takes the field against Western Michigan on Saturday, attendees are invited to “fill the boot” before heading into the game, with proceeds benefitting the Champaign Firefighters Benevolent Fund.

In lot 31 from 1-6 p.m., the Engine 77 crew and their Fighting Illini fire engine will be set up on First Street across from Grange Grove. If you would like to support the fire FamILLy, they will be filling fireboots to be donated to the fund.
