CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (Chambana Today) — The Illinois American Water Company has closed one southbound lane of Mattis Avenue between Henry Street and Sheridan Road. The closed portion is highlighted on the map below.

The shutdown is made in order to complete an emergency water main repair, and began on Saturday, January 17 and will reopen on Friday, January 23, weather permitting. Southbound traffic will be reduced to one lane during the closure.

“The City of Champaign appreciates the cooperation of travelers in the area and encourages caution when traveling through work zones,” a release from the city said.
