Danville police arrest teen after domestic-related shooting

DANVILLE, IL (Chambana Today) — An 18-year-old man was arrested Monday morning following a domestic-related shooting at a home on May Street, authorities said.

Danville Police responded at approximately 8:13 a.m. to a 9-1-1 call reporting a loud disturbance. Officers found an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to a local hospital and is in stable condition.

Police identified the suspect as Damien X. Gore, who was charged with aggravated battery with a firearm and unlawful use of a weapon. A firearm was recovered at the scene, and authorities said there is no ongoing threat to the public.

The investigation remains active, and anyone with information is urged to contact the Danville Police Department or Vermilion County Crime Stoppers.
