DANVILLE, IL (Chambana Today) — The Danville Fire Department will host a firefighter recruitment open house next week, opening its doors to those interested in exploring a career in fire service.

The open house will take place on Wednesday, April 1 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Bremer Theater at Danville Area Community College (DACC). Attendees will have the chance to meet firefighters, ask questions, and gain a direct understanding of the department’s culture, expectations, and mission. Participants will also be able to pick up firefighter application materials, learn about the hiring process and testing requirements, speak directly with firefighters about the profession, discuss training and career development, and explore the benefits and purpose of serving the Danville community.

The Danville Fire Department is looking for individuals committed to service, compassion, teamwork, and dedicated professionalism in protecting the community. Firefighters will be available throughout the evening to share their experiences and answer questions.

“This open house is an opportunity for people to see what the fire service is truly about,” said Fire Chief Aaron Marcott. “Our firefighters serve this community with dedication, empathy, and courage every day. We are looking for individuals who feel called to that same mission.”

Anyone interested in becoming a firefighter, learning about the profession, or exploring the testing process is encouraged to participate. No additional registration is required.
