CHAMPAIGN, IL (Chambana Today) — The Champaign Park District Dance Arts Conservatory will present “The Enchanted Museum: The Ballet & Dance Showcase” this spring at the historic Virginia Theatre.

Performances are scheduled for 7 p.m. Friday, April 10, and 2 p.m. Saturday, April 11. Total runtime is approximately 2½ hours, including a 15-minute intermission.

The original production is loosely inspired by the 1888 ballet The Fairy Doll and the 2006 film Night at the Museum. Organizers say the show blends classical ballet influences with a modern, imaginative twist.

The performance will open with a dance showcase featuring jazz, lyrical, pointe and modern pieces before transitioning into the story-based ballet following intermission. Dancers will perform a mix of original choreography and well-known variations while portraying characters in a fantastical museum setting.

Reserved seating tickets are $16 for adults and $14 for children 12 and under and seniors 55 and older, plus a $2 per-ticket fee.

The Dance Arts Conservatory offers classes for all ages and abilities in ballet, modern, jazz, hip-hop and musical theater dance, emphasizing both formal training and accessibility.

Tickets are available through the Champaign Park District.
