CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (Chambana Today) — After a week with no inspections due to the holiday season, the Champaign-Urbana Public Health District & Champaign County Health Department’s food establishment inspection reports resumed.

It was a slow week back, with just one follow-up inspection taking place as a result of a cockroach infestation.

GREEN

  • Dunkin Donuts, 1302 North Prospect Avenue, Champaign, IL. Inspected December 30

The inspection at Dunkin Donuts was a follow-up inspection after a cockroach infestation caused the facility to be closed on December 22, 2025. Since then, the facility has received two pest control services from Ecolab, a cockroach/rodent program, first on December 22 and again on December 29.

The red placard was removed and replaced with a green placard after the follow-up, which found the facility to be cleaned and sanitized after the pest control service. No live or dead cockroaches were found in the facility.

YELLOW

  • None

RED

  • None

What do the ratings mean?

Following an inspection, all businesses serving food in Champaign-Urbana are required to post placards displaying their grades in a location clearly visible to the public. The meaning of the grades are as follows:

  • A green grade means that “the food establishment was found to be in satisfactory compliance with the ordinance and applicable rules and regulations.”
  • A yellow grade denotes “less than satisfactory compliance.” Following posting of a yellow placard, businesses have the opportunity to improve compliance, with a follow-up inspection required to verify improvement to a satisfactory level.
  • A red grade means the establishment is “out of compliance with the ordinance and applicable rules and regulations to the extent that it poses an immediate threat to public health, or a failure to act, resulting in health permit suspension (e.g., did not pay health permit fee).”
