CHAMPAIGN, IL (Chambana Today) — A full weekend of entertainment is set to bring laughter, music and fan interaction to downtown Champaign as the “Good for the Soul Comedy Showcase” expands into a two-day event at Neil St. Blues.

The weekend kicks off Friday, March 27, with a D9 Meet & Greet event at 6 p.m. featuring headlining comedian Joe Torry. The event offers fans a chance to connect with Torry in a more personal setting, with organizers noting there will be no cover charge for D9 members.

The entertainment continues Saturday, March 28, with the main “Good for the Soul Comedy Showcase,” offering two showtimes at 4 p.m. and 11 p.m.

Torry headlines the showcase alongside guest comedians Tha Bishop, B-Cole and Jae Henderson. The event will be hosted by Mike Lawry Baby, with music provided by DJ Phantom and DJ Trey Illz, blending stand-up comedy with a hip-hop atmosphere.

Organizers say the addition of the meet-and-greet enhances the experience, giving attendees an opportunity to engage with performers beyond the stage while building anticipation for Saturday’s shows.

VIP and general admission tickets for the showcase are available through the venue’s website: Upcoming Events – Neil St. Blues – Soul Food Restaurant in Champaign, IL.
