Champaign Police providing steering wheel locks to Kia and Hyundai owners to combat theft

CHAMPAIGN, IL (Chambana Today) — Earlier this week, the Champaign Police Department shared that it has free steering wheel locks available to Kia and Hyundai owners to combat vehicle thefts related to a social media trend.

Affected vehicles include Kia vehicles manufactured 2011-2021 and Hyundai vehicles manufactured 2013-2021. Proof of ownership of an affected vehicle is required.

Any affected Kia or Hyundai owner is welcome to claim a lock, regardless of where they live, at the front desk at 82 East University Avenue in Champaign.
