CHAMPAIGN COUNTY, Ill. (Chambana Today) — On Friday, the Champaign County Fire Chief’s Association issued an advisory amid a long spell of dry weather in the area that is expected to continue.

“In light of current weather conditions and ongoing drought, the Champaign County Fire Chief’s Association is asking all residents to refrain from open burning,” the advisory read. “These conditions are expected to worsen over the coming weeks, increasing the risk of fire hazards.”
