“Anastasia” to close 2025-26 Parkland College theatre season

CHAMPAIGN, IL (Chambana Today) — Performances of “Anastasia” will close the 2025-26 Parkland College season at the Harold and Jean Miner Theatre, from April 9 to 26.

“Anastasia” comes from the Tony-winning creators of “Ragtime” and “Once on This Island” and promises a sweeping story inspired by the beloved animated film. Set in the final days of the Russian Empire and the vibrant streets of 1920s Paris, this heartfelt musical follows a young woman’s quest to uncover the truth about her past. A soaring score and an epic journey at its heart, it’s an unforgettable tale of resilience and the search for home, love, and family.

The musical direction will be led by Noah Larson and choreography by Grace Beumler. Abby Gailey directs a cast including Madelyn Henson, Andrew Crisp, Michael Steen, Emily Hogan, Jacob Deters, Diane Pritchard, and Jason Morgan.

The ensemble will feature Alex Murphy, Brandon Douglas, Brandon Potenberg, Cheryl Forest Morganson, Dev Wilder, Elizabeth Drews, Grace Kreps, Jackson Gillham, Jaiden Burgess, Jera Sotero, Karin Vermillion, Leah Meeder, Lin Gilbertz, Lyndzie Taylor, Owen Skarbalus, Paige Greve, Thiago Perez, William Kalantzis Cope, and Ila Trout.

Performances will take place on April 9, 10, 11, 17, 18, 24, and 25 at 7:30 p.m. and April 19 and 26 at 3 p.m. This show is rated teen for adult language and content.

Tickets are $25 for adults and $18 for students, youth, seniors and veterans, and can be purchased at tickets.parkland.edu. Opening night is half-price of an adult ticket at $12.50.
