SPRINGFIELD, IL (Chambana Today) The African Descent-Citizens Reparations Commission (ADCRC) has launched a statewide public survey aimed at gathering residents’ perspectives, experiences and priorities as it develops policy recommendations for the state.

Commission officials said the survey is part of an ongoing effort to ensure public input plays a central role in shaping reparative policy proposals. The initiative seeks to capture the lived experiences of communities across the state and identify issues residents believe should be addressed through future policy actions.

The commission said feedback collected through the survey will help inform recommendations in areas including housing, economic opportunity and health outcomes.

Organizers say the survey comes at a time when many residents feel disconnected from government decision-making processes. By participating, residents have an opportunity to contribute directly to discussions that could influence future state policies and programs.

The online survey is open through Sept. 6, 2026, and is available to residents across the state.

ADCRC leaders say public participation is essential to ensuring that recommendations reflect community needs and priorities. Survey findings will be reviewed as the commission continues its work on developing state-level reparative policy proposals.
