ACCIDENT UPDATE: Cunningham reopened just after midnight

URBANA, Ill. (Chambana Today) — Northbound Cunningham Avenue between University Avenue and Airport Road was reopened just after midnight after being closed for a serious crash, according to the Urbana Police Department.

Authorities are currently reconstructing the incident, which has required a complete closure of the northbound lanes.

Police have urged drivers to avoid the area and find alternate routes, as the closure is expected to last several hours. No additional details about the crash or possible injuries have been released at this time.

Lieutenant David Roesch of the Criminal Investigations Division said more information will be made available once the scene is cleared and the investigation progresses.
