DANVILLE, Ill. (Chambana Today) — Students at Danville School District 118 were dismissed early on Monday morning due to an anonymous threat directed at an unidentified school building. The district issued a notice to families just before 9:00 a.m., alerting them to the early release.

In a statement, Superintendent John Hart confirmed that the dismissal process began at 8:45 a.m., and the district was taking immediate action to ensure the safety and security of all students. While the specific location of the threat was not disclosed, the district emphasized its commitment to keeping families informed as the situation develops.

“We are in the process of investigating this matter and will keep everyone posted as more information becomes available,” Hart wrote in the notice to families.
