Winter Storm Warning


Another weekend will include some winter weather. Snow and strong winds, and then freezing temperatures are set to settle into Central Illinois.

Here’s what we know:

...WINTER STORM WARNING IN EFFECT FROM MIDNIGHT TONIGHT TO
MIDNIGHT CST SATURDAY NIGHT...

* WHAT...Heavy snowfall expected. Total snow accumulations of 4 to
  6 inches expected. Winds gusting as high as 35 mph.

* WHERE...Piatt, Champaign, Vermilion and Macon Counties.

* WHEN...From midnight tonight to midnight CST Saturday night.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Plan on slippery road conditions. Areas
  of blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Winter Storm Warning means significant amounts of snow, sleet
and ice will make travel very hazardous or impossible.

Temperatures are also expected to drop after the storm, with temps in the single digits Sunday night.

Road conditions are expected to be bad, with limited visibility with blowing snow. Make sure to check road conditions before you leave. Check them at Getting Around Illinois.
