Wind Chill Advisory


It’s going to be a very frigid night in Central Illinois tonight. A wind chill advisory has been issued for our listening area.

From the National Weather Service in Lincoln:

...WIND CHILL ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 6 PM THIS EVENING
TO NOON CST FRIDAY...

* WHAT...Bitterly cold wind chills expected. Wind chills from 15
  to 30 below zero expected.

* WHERE...Portions of central, east central and west central
  Illinois.

* WHEN...From 6 PM Thursday to noon CST Friday.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The cold wind chills could cause
  frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 30 minutes.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Wind Chill Advisory means that cold air and the wind will
combine to create low wind chills. Frostbite and hypothermia can
occur if precautions are not taken. Make sure you wear a hat and
gloves.

Reminder: please bring in all pets that are outdoors.
