We’ve heard rumblings of Chicago restaurant chains opening their doors in Champaign. While Portillo’s looks to still be up in the air, another beloved chain looks to be moving in.
ChambanaMoms.com reports that Giordano’s is working on a site at Marketplace mall.
From their Story:
Giordano’s, known for its stuffed deep dish pizza — aka “Chicago style” — could be preparing to open in Market Place Mall in the space formerly occupied by Buca di Beppo.
According to the website for Engineering Concepts & Solutions, Inc., Giordano’s is listed as the client for ECS’ project at Market Place Mall. Market Place general manager Dennis Robertson declined to comment.
So a little taste of Chicago could soon be available. A deep dish pizza smackdown between Giordano’s and Papa Dels would certainly be lovely for those of us who love deep dish pizza.
