Triptych Brewing to expand in Savoy

Local craft beer brewer Triptych Brewing is planning a big expansion to their campus in Savoy.

In a story in today’s News-Gazette, the brewery discussed plans to buy a warehouse across the street from their current location in order to expand their brewing capacity

Triptych plans to buy the Flooring Surfaces Inc. store across the road and move most of its production to that building, where customers will be able to take tours, [James] Voigtlander said.

By moving most of the production across the street, Triptych will have more room for customers at the current taproom.

Triptych hopes to complete the expansion by March 1, 2018, Voigtlander said.

The Savoy Village Board unanimously approved a special use permit for the new building, and amended the permit for the current location.

This comes as good news for the fans of the craft brewery, which opened in 2013. The brewery started out sharing their building at 1703 Woodfield drive with another company. The expansion will include more room for patrons and an expanded patio.

The new building will allow Triptych to double their production capacity to meet the demand for their beer. Triptych currently distributes their beer across Illinois including Chicago and the Quad Cities.
