Owners expect the construction to be finished by September.
- Iconic Gibson City restaurant the Bayern Stube is on the market. Owners Jeanne Schnable and Guenter Loesel told the Facebook page Bloomington Normal Restaurant Scene that they are looking to sell the restaurant and move to Florida. They say that the sale would be “turn key” and that they would stay on to help train the new owners. The restaurant, which opened in 1991, has become one of the few places in central Illinois where those with a craving for authentic german food could flock. The restaurant will stay open until a buyer is found. The restaurant is open daily at 209 N. Sangamon in Gibson City.
