With the MCORE project’s construction phase ramping up, more streets in Urbana will be closed or adjusted starting on Monday.

Green street will close from Wright street east to Goodwin ave. This includes the circle drive of the Illini Union. The union will remain open during construction, however the north entrance will be temporarily closed. Patrons may use any of the other entrances.

Vehiclular access to the Illini Union parking lot will be available from Mathews ave.

However Mathews will be southbound only from Springfield to Green.

Pedestrian access will remain open on one side of the street, and may vary designing on construction schedules.

Green st. is also currently closed in Champaign from just east of the viaduct to First st as part of the same project.

Project officials expect work to be finished by 2019
