Monticello Road to close until November in Champaign County

A portion of a popular Champaign County road way will be closed until November.

County Road 1000 N, otherwise known as Monticello road will be closed from June 1st through November as crews replace two bridges.

The road will be closed for roughly 2-5 miles west of the I-57 Monticello road exit. Crews will replace two bridges, one over the Kaskaskia River, one which has been deemed structurally deficient.

No marked detours are planned. Drivers are encouraged to plan accordingly.

The road is expected to reopen November 1st.
