You’re going to need a new type of bag if you’re packing a few items for Illini Football games.

The Division of Intercollegiate Athletics has instituted a new clear-bag policy for the 2018 season at Memorial Stadium. The only permitted bags must be clear and meet a size requirement.

From the release:

Each ticketed guest can carry one (1) large clear bag – either a one-gallon Ziploc-style bag, clear drawstring bag not to exceed 12″ x 12″ or clear bag tote no larger than 12″ x 6″ x 12″ – plus a small clutch purse (4.5″ x 7.0″). The small clutch allows privacy for small personal items and also is easily searched. Fans are encouraged to bring only necessary items into Memorial Stadium and all bags are subject to search and inspection.

Season ticket holders have received a voucher for a free clear bag from Gameday Spirit.
