Governor Pritzker extends stay-at-home through May 30th

Governor JB Pritzker announced a new stay-at-home order that will go in effect on May 1st and end May 30th.

The new order allows some relaxation of previous rules put in place, while strengthening others. In the new order:

  • Masks will now be required for all people over the age of 2 when in public
  • Elective surgeries will be allowed
  • Non-essential businesses will be allowed to reopen with delivery and pickup options
  • Some state parks will reopen with fishing and hiking allowed. Boats will have a limit of two occupants
  • Golf courses will be allowed to reopen with social distancing required.
  • Greenhouses and garden centers will be allowed to open
  • Essential businesses will have new social distancing requirements and occupancy limits.

The current order was set to expire on April 30th.
