UPDATE 4/3/17:
After being bought by Stage Stores, some locations of Gordmans will stay open, including the Champaign location.
Stage, which operates other stores, will keep 50 existing Gordmans locations in business. Stage bought the business after a bankruptcy filing last month where they indicated.
A story in the Omaha World-Herald revealed that the Champaign location at 1901 N. Market would remain open under the new ownership.
The Normal store will close along with two in Rockford, and one near Chicago. Two in Peoria, one in Moline, and one in Fairview Heights will remain open.

After filing for bankruptcy, Gordmans discount stores has announced that it will liquidate all of its stores in the coming months.
The company said in a statement:
Gordmans announced that it has entered into an agreement with Tiger Capital Group, LLC and Great American Group, LLC for the sale in liquidation of the inventory and other assets of Gordmans’ retail stores and distribution centers, subject to the receipt and Bankruptcy Court approval of a more favorable transaction.
The chain has a store location at 1901 N. Market St. Champaign near the Market Place Shopping Center.
The company also said in a statement that it will be business as usual for the time being:
“Until further notice, all Gordmans stores are operating as usual without interruption,” said Andy Hall, president and chief executive officer of Gordmans. “The management team and all of our associates remain committed to continuing to provide great merchandise and service to our guests during this process.”
There was no timetable announced for the liquidation or closing of the stores
Gordmans currently operates 106 stores across 22 states. The Gordmans chain was founded in 1915 as a family clothing store in Omaha, Nebraska.
