- A brand new craft beer brewery is set to debut in Urbana with a taproom in the works. 25 O’Clock Brewing Company has started up at 208 W. Griggs St. in Urbana. According to their Facebook Page, the brewery will initially offer a 99 seat tap room with patio seating for another 48. The company also indicated that Pizza M will share the building on Griggs St. in the near future. Pizza M is currently in a shared space with Flying Machine Coffee at 208 W. Main in Urbana. 25 O’Clock Brewing Company plans to release their first beer this week at Pizza M.
- The city of Champaign has issued a building permit for a CoreLife Eatery at 2412 N. Prospect. CoreLife is a restaurant chain that focuses on natural, healthy food bowls using non-GMO chicken, beef, and vegetables, with a focus on making many ingredients in store. The chain started in Syracuse in 2015 and currently has 23 restaurants, with another 29 planned. The company’s website lists the Champaign location as opening in “Early 2018.” It will join Blaze Pizza in the Buildings in front of the Walmart.
- Two very popular Champaign restaurants are now delivering. Portillo’s has partnered with Door Dash to provide delivery from their Champaign location. Meanwhile, Downtown hidden gem Farren’s Pub and Eatery will offer delivery through EatStreet. They are offering first time orderers $7.00 their first delivery.
- The Broadway Food Hall, announced earlier this year, is ready to show off its soon-to-be menus. The food hall will feature Five different restaurants and a communal dining space. The food hall will have an open house this week.
