Costco in Champaign? It looks like a possibility.

It seemed to be a longshot for many years, but it looks like a Costco in Champaign, could be a reality.

According to the News-Gazette, a development deal is on the City Council agenda for next Tuesday that could bring a store to Market Place Shopping Center.

The store would be located where the former Bergners location currently sits. The store would be demolished and the Costco would be built in it’s place. The new store would be 150,000 square feet.
