After filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy Gander Mountain will close 32 underperforming stores, including the one in Champaign.

In a statement today the company said :

Today’s action is the result of an in-depth review of the company’s strategic options undertaken in recent months to preserve the value of the company and position it for long-term success.

Gander Mountain opened its Champaign location in 2014 in the former Circuit City building.

The company will begin shutdown procedures in the coming weeks. Other store locations will remain open.
