UPDATE: Missing Tolono woman found safe

The Champaign County Sheriff’s office has cancelled the missing persons alert for Misty J. Henderson of The Oaks.

She has been found alive and safe.

The Champaign County Sheriff’s office is searching for a woman who has been missing since Sunday.

Misty Joy Henderson, 19, of The Oaks, near Tolono, was last seen around 6:00pm in Homer where she was house-sitting for a relative. The family friend who last saw her, said that they were making plans to go to church on Sunday.

But Henderson never showed up to church on Sunday, and hasn’t been heard from since. She was reported missing to the Tolono police later that day.

According to the Champaign County sheriff’s office, she was last seen wearing a black and yellow “Batman” T-shirt and Pink Shorts. She is about 5’5″ tall and weighing approximately 228 lbs with Brown eyes. She has a scar on her upper right leg that’s approximately two (2) inches in length and also has a scar in her hairline.
