Central Illinois Chipotle restaurants included in data breach.

Chipotle Mexican Grill has announced more information on a data breach that will affect some customers, including in Central Illinois.

The company announced that due to a security breach some credit and debit card information was accessed from their Point of Sale system from March 24th to April 18th.

The stores included in the breech include two stores in Champaign at 903 W. Anthony Dr. and 528 E. Green St.

In a statement Chipotle says that they are taking steps to correct this issue.

During the investigation we removed the malware, and we continue to work with cyber security firms to evaluate ways to enhance security measures. In addition, we continue to support law enforcement’s investigation and are working with the payment card networks so that the banks that issue payment cards can be made aware and initiate heightened monitoring.

Cardholders who may have had their data stolen should check their cards for fraudulent activity, monitor their credit score, and if fraud occurs, check with their card issuer to correct the issue.

If you may have eaten at a Chipotle restaurant that was affected by the breach, you can visit this site to check and see if that location is on the list.
