BREAKING – Campustown Shooter in custody.


On September 29, 2016 at approximately 10:15 PM, 18-year-old Robbie M. Patton of Champaign turned himself in to the Champaign County Jail for the offenses of First Degree Murder and Aggravated Battery with a Firearm.

Patton, 18, was charged with First Degree Murder of George Korchev of suburban Mundelein  yesterday after police say Patton fired a gun and struck Korchev and several other bystanders.

His bail was set at $5 million by Judge Tom Difanis who issued a warrant for his arrest Tuesday.

Patton was recently paroled from Boot Camp after a different firearm charge. He plead guilty to discharging a firearm in the parking lot of Steak ‘N Shake on north Prospect in Champaign in December of 2015.
