Bergner’s parent company Bon Ton to liquidate, all stores will close

Bon Ton Stores, the parent company of Marketplace Mall anchor store Bergners has announced that it will begin a liquidation of it’s inventory and all stores will close.

The move was announced today as the company was sold to a liquidator. The closing affects all Bon Ton brands including Bon Ton, Bergners, Boston Store, Carson’s, Elder Beerman, Herbergers, and Younkers brands.

The closing will affect local stores in Bloomington, Champaign, Danville, Forsyth, Mattoon, and Springfield.

No timetable is set for the closing of the stores at this time.
