Arrest Made in Holly Cassano Murder from 2009

An arrest has been made in the 2009 murder of Holly Cassano. Tuesday night (August 28) that Champaign County Sheriff’s Office arrested Michael F.A. Henslick of Mahomet in the parking lot of Marketplace Mall. Holly was brutally stabbed to death and sexually assaulted in her home in November, 2009.

UPDATE: Police say Henslick lived blocks away from where Cassano was murdered, and that they went to high school together and had mutual friends. Henslick was first identified by Sheriff’s deputies and was followed since Monday.

Henslick was in police custody on Monday in connection to an ongoing 2015 drug case. He has been in trouble with the law multiple times since the 2009 murder.
