A winter storm is headed for our listening area on Thursday. A winter weather advisory has been issued.

Here’s the release from NWS Lincoln:

...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 6 AM THURSDAY TO 10 AM
CST FRIDAY...

* WHAT...Snow followed by a mix of snow and light freezing
  drizzle late Thursday night. Total snow accumulations of 2 to 4
  inches and ice accumulations of a light glaze expected.

* WHERE...Portions of central, east central and west central
  Illinois.

* WHEN...From 6 AM Thursday to 10 AM CST Friday.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Plan on slippery road conditions. The
  hazardous conditions could impact the morning or evening
  commute.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of snow, sleet or
freezing rain will cause travel difficulties. Expect slippery
roads and limited visibilities, and use caution while driving.
